Terri Lynn Wootten is a 1998 graduate of Salisbury State University, where she studied Physical Education with a concentration in Education, Sports Medicine with a concentration in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, and Kinesiology, along with a minor in Biology with a concentration in Nutrition. She started her career at Centreville High School, Centreville, VA, as a secondary biology, physical education, and health teacher as well as an  Athletic Trainer until 2001. From 2002 -2005 she was a Strength and Conditioning Teacher at Bishop O’Connell High School as well as the Associate Athletic Trainer. In 2012, Terri Lynn left Bishop O’Connell’s athletic training department to focus on Coach Wootten’s Basketball Camps and McDonald’s All American Games full time. In 2025, Terri Lynn returned to the O’Connell Knights Men’s Basketball program as an assistant coach.

Terri Lynn and Joe Wootten share three children, Alexa (22), Reese (18), and Jackson (16), and live in Vienna, VA.

  • Joined Coach Wootten’s Basketball Camp’s medical staff in 1996 as a student athletic training intern.
  • 1998: Named the Head Athletic Trainer and Medical Director.
  • 2000: She also took on the role of staffing administrator.
  • 2003: She joined the McDonald’s All American Games Nomination and Selection Administrative Team.
  • 2007: Named Director of the McDonald’s All American Games Nomination and Selection Committee, and became a member of the McDonald’s All American Games Steering Committee.
  • 2013: Name Coach Wootten’s Basketball Camp Adminsitrator, Staffing Administrator, and Medical Director.
  • 2023: Named as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Women’s College Basketball.
  • 2024: Named as one of the  Top 100 Most Influential People in Grassroots Basketball.
  • 2025: Named as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Women’s College Basketball.
  • 2025: Named as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Men’s College Basketball. Only woman to be named to both the men’s and women’s college list. 1 of 5 women to be named to the men’s list.
