1961 – Coach Morgan Wootten and Coach Joe Gallagher started the Metropolitan Area Basketball Day School.
1973 – A week for girls was added to the Metropolitan Area Basketball Day School.
1984 – Coach Wootten, along with Coach Jim Phelan and Coach Bill Sheehan, started three weeks (two weeks for boys and one week for girls) of overnight camp at Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland, known as Mason Dixon Basketball Camp.
1983 – The Metropolitan Area Basketball Day School moved to Takoma Academy in Takoma Park, Maryland.
1987 – The Mason Dixon Basketball Camp was expanded to six weeks (four weeks for boys and two weeks for girls).
1998 – The overnight camp moved to Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland under the direction of Coach Morgan Wootten and Coach Joe Wootten and became Coach Wootten’s Basketball Camp for boys, and was 4 weeks long.
2000 – The day camp moved to O’Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia and was renamed to Coach Wootten’s Basketball Day Camp.
2006 – The overnight camp at Frostburg expanded to five weeks (four weeks for boys and one week for girls).
2007– The Father/Son Camp was added.
2014– The Academic All-American Camp was added.
2019 – The Father/Son Camp was changed to the Parent/Child Camp.
2020– The Wootten 150 Camp was added to evaluate the Top 150 High School boys and 150 Top High School girls in the country as a pathway to the McDonald’s All American Games. This was held in Mansfield, TX, for 3 years.
2023 – The Wootten 150 moved to Las Vegas, NV, and paired with the Border League.
2024 – The boys’ division stays in Las Vegas, and the girls’ division moves to Washington, DC.
