Morgan Wootten coached an amazing 1,274 wins during his tenure as Head Basketball Coach at DeMatha High School in Hyattsville, MD. His career winning percentage of .869 is the highest winning percentage of any coach with more than 500 wins in the history of organized sport. The prestigious Naismith Foundation has named Morgan Wootten the #1 Prep Coach of the 20th Century. And, on October 13, 2000, Morgan Wootten was inducted into the National Basketball Hall of Fame. Wootten has led his team to an averaged of 23.9 wins per season in his 15 years as Head Coach.
38 of his former players are currently playing or have played college athletics and 4 of his former players have played professionally over seas and one in the NBA.
Eleven of his former assistants have advanced in the coaching profession including 1 head college coach, 6 college assistants, and 5 high school coaches.
Served as an assistant under Morgan Wootten at DeMatha and Joe Canfafio at Furman University.
